On 8 September, Alkarama sent an urgent appeal to the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) regarding the case of Waleed Al Dod Al Mekki Al Hussain, a Sudanese national who has been deprived of his fundamental rights since his arrest by the Saudi General Intelligence forces on 23 July 2015.

On Monday 7 September 2015, Djameleddine Laskri entered its 24th year of arbitrary detention.

On 3 September 2015, Alkarama sent an urgent appeal to the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID) regarding the enforced disappearance of journalist and member of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mosab Abdalla Abdelhamid Morsy Hamed, in early July 2015.

On 1 September 2015, Alkarama and Al Wissam Humanitarian Assembly sent a communication to the United Nations Committee on Enforced Disappearances (CED) regarding the case of a 35-year-old construction worker, Mohammad Al Jabouri, who disappeared in July 2015 following his abduction in Baghdad by the Iraqi Special Operations Forces, which operate under the control of the Ministry of Defence.

On 1 September 2015, Alkarama and Human Rights Guardians sent a communication to the United Nations Working Group on Enforced Disappearances (WGEID) regarding the cases of Abdul Rahman Al Jawalak and Ramez Al Deeb, who disappeared since their respective abductions from the Hama countryside by governmental forces between January and August 2012.

In its latest shadow report on the widespread practice of enforced disappearances in Iraq, Alkarama identifies alarming patterns – in particular the widespread use of secret detention and the abductions committed by government-backed militias – and formulated 14 key recommendations to the authorities to tackle the issue.

On 5 August 2015, Alkarama sent its Submission to the List of Issues on the situation of civil and political rights in Kuwait to the United Nations Human Rights Committee (HRCtee) in view of the country's third review by the Committee during its 118th session in June/July 2016.

Today, the Italian Minister of Justice ordered that Rachid Mesli remains under house arrest until further notice. This week, Mesli's lawyer will address a request before the Turin Court of Appeal for his release until a hearing is set.

On 20 August 2015, Alkarama and Al Wissam Humanitarian Assembly sent a communication to the United Nations Committee on Enforced Disappearances (CED) regarding the case of Wessam Hussein Ali Al Ghazzawi who disappeared since his abduction from Baghdad by Special Weapons and Tactics Unit (SWAT) forces in August 2014.

On 30 August each year, the international community observes the International day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, established by the United Nations in December 2010.
