On November 2, the world celebrated the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, while the Israeli occupation continues relentlessly its war against journalists in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Today, as the world marks the "International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists," Yemeni journalists face a dire situation, enduring violence, intimidation, and killings due to their expressions and opinions. The impunity enjoyed by perpetrators further exacerbates these violations. In accordance with United Nations Resolution 168 of 31 October 1947, United Nations Day is celebrated annually on 24 October to commemorate the anniversary of the entry into force of the Charter of the United Nations in 1945. Article 1 of the Charter defines the purposes of the Organization.

Resolution 47/196, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 22, 1992, proclaimed October 17 as the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. The purpose of this day is to draw attention to the need to respect inherent human dignity and social responsibility towards communities and individuals living in poverty, rather than the relentless pursuit of profit and gain at the expense of human beings.

On October 15, 2024, Alkarama submitted a letter to the United Nations (UN) Working Group on Arbitrary Detention regarding the developments in the case of Libyan MP Hassan Farjani Salem.
