Alkarama participated in the opening of the World Forum of the People of East Turkestan in Istanbul, which is being held for three days and aims to commemorate the struggles of the East Turkestan Uyghur people against the Chinese occupation, with the participation of delegations from all over the world.

Every year on this date, 2 October 2024, the world commemorates the International Day of Non Violence, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution 61/271 of 15 June 2007, as an occasion to disseminate the culture of peace, tolerance, understanding and non-violence.

Alkarama strongly condemns the deliberate targeting of civilians amid the ongoing Israeli bombardment of densely populated residential areas in Lebanon. At the same time, occupation forces persist in perpetrating acts of genocide in Gaza, systematically erasing entire Palestinian families without facing any form of deterrence.

Every year on this date, 21 September 2024, the world commemorates the International Day of Peace, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution 55/282 of 7 September 2001, “as a day of global ceasefire and non-violence, an invitation to all nations and people to honour a cessation of hostilities for the duration of the Day”.

On 19 September 2024, Alkarama submitted a complaint to the Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) on behalf of Dr. Hossam Abouelezz, former governor of Qalyubia, who has been arbitrarily detained since September 2013.

Today, September 15, 2024, the world celebrates the International Day of Democracy, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution 62/7 of November 8, 2007, in order for the United Nations system to support the efforts of governments to promote and consolidate new or restored democracies.

The United States (US) has continued to wage wars in various forms since the September 11, 2001 attacks. The entire world has become a battlefield for US and allied campaigns against "terrorism" often disregarding international humanitarian law and human rights standards. 

A United Nations (UN) Fact-Finding Mission has reported that the parties of the war in Sudan have committed a horrific array of human rights violations and international crimes, many of which could amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity. 

Every year on this date, the world celebrates the International Day of Charity, which was decided by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution 67/105 of December 17, 2012.

In the run-up to the Algerian presidential elections on 7 September 2024, Algeria is experiencing a period of particularly severe repression, marked by a wave of arbitrary arrests of political opponents, pro-democracy activists, journalists, academics and human rights defenders.

This repression, orchestrated by the authorities, constitutes a flagrant violation of Algeria's international human rights obligations, particularly under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).
