Alkarama and the Arab Commission on Human Rights have appealed to the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) and the Special Representative for the Defenders of Human Rights to ask them to intervene in the case of Mr. Khaled Hamza.
Mr. Khaled Hamza, born Oct. 28, 1963, resides in Dakahlia. He is a civil engineer and editor in chief of the English information website of the Muslim Brotherhood organization (http://www.ikhwanweb.com).

AlKarama has learned that Mr. Issam Al-Uteibi has been released on March 12, 2008. Arrested on Nov. 28, 2002, he was kept in detention without legal process and despite a judgement of acquittal on 27 December 2004. To protest against this situation, he started a hunger strike on February 4, 2008. The Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, sought by AlKarama had issued an opinion in which he considered his detention as being arbitrary.

AlKarama has send on February 27 a communication to the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention asking for its intervention with the Saudi authorities in the case of Mr Naive Abdellah Al Qahtani, detained without due process of  law since 09 August 2004.
Mr. Naif Mohamed Abdellah AL QAHTANI was born in 1972. He resides with his family in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia, where he is a civil servant in the local administration.
