Zakaria Mohamed Ali, president of a cultural association in Saudi Arabia, was arrested without a warrant on 20 April 2013 in Riyadh by Saudi intelligence services. Since then, he is illegally detained in Dhaban prison, Jeddah. His crime? Promoting critical thinking and cultural exchange between Saudi Arabia and Japan...

On 20 April 2013, Zakaria Ali, a Somali national, was arrested at Platinum Center, Salah Al Deen Al Ayubi in Riyadh by Saudi intelligence services (Al Mabahith) and taken to Riyadh Prison without any arrest warrant.

Alkarama submitted its contribution to the fourth periodical review of the United States by the Human Rights Committee, which open its 109 session in Geneva on 14 October.

Update - 11 September 2013 

Hisham Al Heysah and Bassem Al Rawabedah today appeared for a second time before the Jordanian State Security Court (SSC), but the trial was postponed to 24 September as the prosecution's witnesses failed to  attend today's session.

The second review of Jordan and Yemen under the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) will take place in October 2013.
